At the College of Aeronautics we prepare our students to be successful in long careers in all aspects of the aviation industry – that includes the pilot of the aircraft. Florida Tech offers flight options with many undergraduate degrees through the College of Aeronautics. The flight training program for all flight option bachelor’s degrees consists of four flight courses. The flight training sequence is an integrated series of courses designed to prepare the student for a career as a commercial pilot. Upon successful completion of the flight program pilots will have earned at minimum their commercial pilot certificate with instrument and multiengine ratings, and at least of 190 hours of flight training. Fly with ATP and gain access to more aircraft, locations, and job placements than any flight school, academy, or aviation university can offer.
For the past couple of weeks across TikTok, bright-eyed flight attendant trainees have hopped on the app to eagerly share their base assignments, aka the city and airport they’ll predominantly fly in and out of. Major airlines are hiring regional airline pilots with no pool to replace these positions. Certain cities, like Miami and Houston, are bases for more senior employees where new hires shouldn’t expect to be placed right away. But, places like New York City and Austin are more realistic choices for junior flight attendants, Parker said. If a flight attendant isn’t happy with their base assignment, many airlines will allow them to request a transfer, McIntyre said. So London, along with two other flight attendants in her training class, moved into a Boston apartment together.

The lifesaving training is required for those participating in overwater aerial missions or conducting water operations in seaplanes. The initial course must be instructor-led and include the actual water exercises. The training teaches a standardized six-step sequence to egressing a submerged aircraft cabin in the event of a forced landing or mishap overwater. The course is designed to provide participants with a standardized procedure to utilize during an aircraft water ditching. Subsequent recurrency training can be obtained through an online webinar, however, a periodic repeat of the full course with water exercises is encouraged to maintain skills. Our Airline Operations training courses enable you to maintain pilot’s competencies or to train them to manage special flight operations (HUD, LVO, etc.) or to address specific training.

Performance Flight aircraft management services operate in airports across the United States. The fast-paced training environment of ATP was almost identical to the type of training I received from the airline. I was able to use the study skills I learned at ATP to successfully prepare myself for the airline life. On June 12, 1972, Jerry Lauderbaugh became the first President of FIT Aviation and Dean of the School of Aeronautics. It is through research that faculty members advance their fields, students enhance their learning, and the university creates change for the benefit of our planet and all of its inhabitants. The MH-60 Blackhawk was conducting aerial refueling training when the aircraft experienced an in-flight emergency resulting in the crash.
